Railing had no posts, so popped right off with some taps from a sledge. Ran a circle saw along the deck boards in between the joists, so now they're only attached at the house and the beam.

A few things about the deck are safety hazards/shortcuts so I'm nervous about what I'm going to find in the post footings and what it looks like under the ledger board. Which is a big motivation to do this tbh

Day 2 of demolition progress. This was very fast. The landing took a bit (even though the post fell over with one sledge hit 🫥) and then those joists all came down in 20 minutes before my sawzall battery died
