Palantir has student data, including immigration status, from the ed tech discussion platform Piazza. Palantir paid Piazza $916,000 for access to this data. www.sec.gov/Archives/edg... I blew the whistle on this in 2016 and the CEO contacted my employer.
Let’s also kick edtech out of schools because I promise you Palantir has that data too

Happy last day of Q1 everyone, here’s to making more deliverables and saying agentic a lot more in Q2
I can’t believe that I am having to sit with my children and discuss Iran’s ai generated Lego diss tracks, if they are real and what is going on.
There are so many careers where you can make or do beautiful things, and none of them require ai
You have always fought the fight at significant personal cost I believe a lot of people get silenced once they speak out and that’s why schools never get to hear what they need to hear

I am so glad I don’t see any of this . I do think the tiktok “film myself teaching” stuff has made this worse. - good lessons are where students spend time making mistakes and thinking alone or in groups. It isn’t dinner theatre is it

What makes me sad about this is that the students are the ones having to do the work, while I wager 3/4 of the faculty and adults in their lives are the ones addicted to ai and Facebook. This would be a better intervention for adults
