It also marks another day of the nation completely swerving the question of why children under the age of 16 need to be prevented at all costs from seeing the content that their own parents and grandparents are posting, during daily screen time far exceeding that of the under 16s.

I'm sorry but a social media ban for young people alongside the DfE shoe horning AI into everything in education just doesn't make sense. We've already seen the harms that AI can do despite it only just being more widely adopted. Regulate the tech companies ffs!
Are kobo readers good? Anyone recommend kindle alternatives ?
As a parent, you can’t help but be frustrated that the first 7 years of education are all about you constantly being nagged about reading records and phonics. And then they turn 11/12 and that is forgotten: use AI to do this hw marked by AI, what’s a book?- your child needs to be on a screen.

The U.K. is a nightmare. There are SO many of us, @heatherburnstech.bsky.social included, who have tried hard to raise awareness of tech harms. But we can’t get into schools or anywhere that matters because they’d rather listen to and pay these people. We need tech editors that will run this stuff
