lyse when meeting the confederacy: yall mind if a white girl speaks a little nihongo
but as far as localization is concerned as long as its decided characterization is consistent i dont have a problem. i dont usually have a problem with either estinien or emet-selch in english localized. *translated* however they both lose most of what i actually like about them
i think that overall the *localization* of ff14 is fine. barring... homophobic choices. and other things that are mostly confined to earlier expansions. the dub direction is pure ass however. and the translation is obviously flawed, every language is getting different characterizations
im not actually one of those people who hates the localization of ff14 probably precisely cause i know japanese and play with japanese voices so i can compartmentalize the difference, and also because my work is in translation i know the difference between localizing and translating
you had to go out of your way to spoil people in the cusp of the millennium. like you had to directly message people for that
i already knew kojifox was a hack translator but learning his desire to get fluent in japanese was so he could spoil games for his "friends" by importing them before they got english releases like goddamn thats a level of evil weebery ive never considered
