England’s kit should have referenced Aubrey Beardsley or Austin Osman Spare. Leonora Carrington would have been cool. Even a Pre-Raphaelite would have done. Could see Bridget Reilly working. Or Turner! Do better, England.
That “Keep this frequency clear” sample drop was thrilling in the way that people got excited by guitar solos or vocal trills, as was hearing the Terminator X sirens… I had Cabs / TG etc records by then but this stuff (+ the JAAMS) seemed somehow like the revolution was coming.
