maybe the dodgers think of that as more finishing school curricula (AA/AAA), and the test is seeing if these sort of non-prospects can learn it at just those levels? even then, that’s a small crowd of guys on which to base a case study 🤷♂️
in most cases I would say that this is a terrible idea, and that it hurts the development of catchers
but -
the dodger farm is largely bereft of talent behind the dish, so if they’re going to play with it, sadly, this backstop group is the one with whom to do it
things you say to try to get the boosters on board for paying the next qb who may or may not be of questionable character
