Our paper in Science is out! @souravagrawal.bsky.social, @rlynn.bsky.social, @susvirkar.bsky.social, and the rest of the team show human RPA is a telomerase processivity factor essential for telomere maintenance. This reshapes our thinking about telomerase regulation. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

We show that anti-recombinase FIGNL1 removes RAD51 in BRCA2 deficient cells causing homologous recombination defects and loss of FIGNL1 restores functional recombination in these cells. More on the mechanism in the manuscript.

What an exciting day for the lab at the Dutch Chromatin Meeting! Congrats to Ashutosh (a.k.a Vincent 😉)for winning the poster prize on 3D reorganization of stressed forks & Joanna for her fantastic talk on phase separation during replication stress. Proud of you guys! 🤩
Want to know how homologous recombination defects are caused upon loss of BRCA2? Check out our recent efforts in uncovering this phenomenon just out in Science!
