100% I mean if the reason you don't like someone is what they're doing than focus on that. I remember all the people who would deadname Caitlyn Jenner "cause she didn't deserve respect," no she doesn't but if you mock her for being trans you mock all trans people. Same with disability and illness.
Considering things being done right now, this feels like an extremely important pride month reminder, especially for allies. Because while we’ve always been here, there is so much history and research we lose every time they try to erase us from the historical/scientific record.

Jumping directly to ableist jokes essentially declares that you think there are disabilities or bodies or conditions that you think are lesser. That they belong as the butt of jokes. That you’re fine with alienating and hurting disabled people. That there are bodies that you think don’t belong. 6/

I will never ever stop saying that it’s super important to direct insults at the bigots/facists/terrible people who deserve them, and not the many good people on your side. The way people immediately turn to ableism or body shaming, rather than the choices someone makes. 1/ #ableism
