Really failing to mask lately but I struggle to engage with people who see sega era Puyo as completely soulless because while it's true that it's mostly homogenized I feel like we can talk about the writing on its own terms instead of saying "it's more corporate" and acting like that's an analysis
At the very least say "corporate meddling and nostalgia poisoning of the older fanbase necessitates that the characters remain mostly in stasis without any meaningful development" because at least you're referencing an actual problem and then concretely describing the effects
