Book had a conlang (which is fine) but the made-up word that made me slam the book shut had a glossary entry that was just "a belt." Nothing culturally significant about it. Just a belt.
Good example: Obi - a wide sash-like belt, typically worn over a kimono as a part of Japanese customs and traditions. Can be a solid color or woven with intricate patterns. Bad example: Obi - a belt. If your definition is a single word, just write the fucking word.
