I have found it strange how its fallen on us, the public, to do the throat clearing "well I don't think he's a Nazi" rather than the burden ever really having fallen on the guy with a Nazi tattoo to offer strong counter evidence, evidence at least as strong as his Nazi tattoo.
Good summary. I don't think Platner's a Nazi, but if anyone has to think that hard about it, maybe he's not a good candidate for so many reasons, including judgment.

Agree with John Ganz analysis, even if it is still (just a tiny bit) too charitable...
The "SS Totenkopf" symbology is at least as specifically "Nazi" as "SS" lightning bolts, and much more so than the "generic" swastika...
