He might. But now a lot of people voting in Pennsylvania - a swing state like Maine - are watching their senator fight with a guy in Maine, and now they know who he is, and this is why you don't run guys with lots of baggage if you can help it.

I think this is a national mid-term and while it might not hurt in Maine, it's bad for the national effort to stop Trump
"there is no such thing as bad press" is burned into the minds of a lot of people you won't remember because they lost

Sure, the style is gross. But one of the most common worries I've seen Democrats have about Platner is that, "He'll end up being another Fetterman."
