In-game ads shouldn't be trying to sell me something in real time. They should be used to get me thinking about a brand, though. I got a Meow Skateboards deck after learning about that brand from the Tony Hawk 1+2 remake, and the game didn't tell me to look at the cool things the brand is doing...

I did that on my own, based solely on curiosity I had from the brand's own image. Nothing more. I was influenced without being subjugated to something outright malicious.
