The kind of ads in games that I'm kinda cool with:
general brand promotion; think logos items featuring brand names, branded restaurants or businesses appearing or mentioned. We've had this to varying degrees since at least the early 2000s.
The kind I'm not cool with:
Video ads, sales promos, etc.
