I’m a climate scientist. Let me fix this headline.
“Nearly a century ago, scientists showed that burning fossil fuels warms the planet.
Today, we know human emissions account for over 100% of the warming.
Yet dark money and disinformation still work to keep Americans addicted to fossil fuels.”
Typical antimemetic behavior, attempting to sabotage the livelihood of the person who exposes its origins.
If only there was a cutthroat solution to end inequality
These people don’t know what the fuck they are doing with the technology they so much champion and in the process we might as well just burn the planet to the ground
From “I do my own research” to “let the AI do the search for me”
It's a nice marketing ploy because politicians & VCs think this "SiNGuLaRiTyYy" is a strategic advantage and thus if they believe that "we are close™️" they will push for more investments, and boom money rolls in
“The ultimate hidden truth of the world is that it is something that we make, and could just as easily make differently”
— David Graeber @davidgraeberinst.bsky.social
sex workers, porn artists, black people, and trans people built this website, and now they're banning us and hiding us to try and make the platform more appealing to their fascist investors
The world is complex and always has been. But the narrative "the world today is just so much more complicated" often only serves as an argument to legitimize accepting injustice and violence.
