And sometimes the teacher you hate the most can also give you a gift: Mrs. Wiggs, aka. Conan the Grammarian, who both scared the shit out of me and whipped my grammar into shape. I don't condone her scariness, but if Whatmough thought he couldn't teach me anything, she's the reason why.
I can keep going! There was Mr. Whatmough, who decided making me write the same assignments as the rest of the class was a waste of my time, and gave me individualized assignments, some of them creative (I wrote a "lost" scene to Much Ado About Nothing)
Mrs. Chamberlain, my 6th grade teacher, once commented on one of my poems: "Rachel, you're a real writer!" And forever after, I WAS a writer, because she'd said so, and she would never lie to me. I got to thank her, after my first book came out, and I feel so grateful for that.
I know nobody's going to feel sorry for me if I complain about how hot it is, but that's not gonna stop me. It's 26C in my kitchen! Boo! BOOOOO!
