To a very large degree, the impact of earthquakes is a "solved" scientific and engineering problem.
But they aren't solved *political* problems.
Australia was once lush and wet and will be again!

Very unfortunately oriented continent from the perspective of not wiping out a *huge* diversity of life.
20+ million years ago there were river dolphins in the Lake Frome area of Australia.
It's now a giant salt flat.
Because Australia is oriented so unfortunately with respect to climate belts.
