20+ million years ago there were river dolphins in the Lake Frome area of Australia.
It's now a giant salt flat.
Because Australia is oriented so unfortunately with respect to climate belts.

lol I keep thinking about how soon Australia will be out of the desert latitude zone and hit the equator and it’s moved about 5 feet in the past 30 years.
