Was biking today on some suburban arterials. Almost forgot the thrill of biking on 35-45 mph multi-lane arterials with modest shoulders and no sidewalks. But I sure did feel safe when I spotted this "bike route" signage.

Biking on Humboldt Blvd. through Humboldt Park used to be a chore that felt quite unsafe. Thanks to CDOT for these protected bike lanes with raised crosswalks at pedestrian crossings. Too bad the protected lanes don't extend north of North Ave. to at least the 606 Trail.
