Wait the EU is not okay with Apple giving themselves a 18 month head start? Shouldn't Apple get a fair chance to lock in users into Siri AI before the competition has a chance to, you know, compete?!

Apple designed its fab new (fast! private! thinking of the children!) Siri AI in a way it knew contravened EU law, but asked to do it anyway, pinky-promising that it would make it compliant after 18 months. EU said "no". Not-Steve and Not-Steve-Either are both Very Sad. www.apple.com/newsroom/202...
Due to the Digital Markets Act, Apple will not be able to ship Siri AI in the European Union with the release of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.
