So, I guess they are no longer “awful” as I argued earlier this week.
#Astros pitchers are much improved in past month. LH panel shows Astros 2026 Team ERA. If they get 2-3 more good outings, they will pass the As. Take a look at the middle panel. Astros are 8th in MLB in past 15 days with a 4.04 ERA. The RH panel shows the Astros Team ERA for the past month. 3.98!

@jmszpila.bsky.social this is why I’m having a hard time calling the Astros mediocre. Their team ERA is historically bad for this club. In 2013, they lost 111 games. Their team ERA was 4.79 (30). Compare that with 4.95 (29) today. They’re not going to lose 111 games. But without Yordan…
Last night, Teng had 9 Ks, but he allowed 3 HR & 5 ER in 3.1 IP. Flashy maybe, but ineffective. #Astros pitchers are 10th in SO (627; MIL is 1st @ 675) 29th in BB (340; SEA is 1st @ 190) 28th in WHIP (1.44; LA is 1st @ 1.09) 25th in HR (95; NYY is 1st @ 61) 29th in ERA (4.95; ATL is 1st @ 3.29)
