Reminds me of something @chrissamnee.bsky.social said in an interview I did with he and @markwaid.bsky.social a few years back. Waid was talking about how alive Samnee's characters feel when he's writing dialogue for them.

Every once in a while I beg certain comic book artists out there to please consider drawing their characters' mouths open more often when they are speaking/emoting. Indy, artsy and mainstream. Your endlessly tight-lipped bad actors are dead on the page, killing dialogue and snuffing emotion.
