“There’s a lot of ruin in a nation” seems to be something the US, UK, and Russia are all experimenting with. But what would a “win” in Ukraine even be at this point?
Also I kind of wish we had some Russia ultra hawks to say we should open up an eastern front. (Kidding, kidding)

This war is somewhat existential for Putin, he is not likely to survive the fallout of the Russian economic implosion that will follow without a win to show for it. And while economically extremely painful, it's not approaching collapse yet (though trending) and they can carry on for a while.
