On Monday I had a great evening at the National Marine Aquarium listening to @bd-stew.bsky.social and @molkjam.bsky.social talking about the recent bloom in octopus in the Southwest for the spring #PlyMSEF lecture. I think all lectures should be held in front of aquarium tanks in future!
This review highlights the need for a more explicit ecosystem-based management approach in scallop fisheries, emphasizing seabed habitat protection and recognizing their role as vital for key life history stages such as spat settlement.
