I can't be the only one who sees a tiny incongruity between:
"2024 manifesto commitments on tax are red lines."
and...
various examples of: "Yes well the world has changed since we said there wouldn't need to be another Budget like that."

Quietly utterly damning - but also entirely exposing how absurd the govts red lines are on tax.
There is no way you can nickle and dime your way to the spending increase needed here. You need a broad based tax rise. And no one in politics can confront that.
