I'm on my way to #LPS25 in Vienna and excited for a full week of EO science 🚀
You're not sure which sessions to start with? Join my talk in the Global Carbon Budgets session.
I'll talk about how much biomass was lost due to tree cover loss across Europe's forests from 1985-2024.
See you in Vienna!

📣In our new paper we analyzed the impact of #Landsat and #Sentinel-2 🛰️ #satellite data density and SMA endmembers on trends in #grasslands ground cover:
- for monthly composites data density is irrelevant
- correct endmember definitions are critical‼️

Looking for a PhD? We have a new position to fill, starting in autumn. We'll find out how disturbances affect microclimate and regeneration using remote sensing.
Apply below, open until 18.6.25 and feel free to contact me if you have questions!
Start of the @dfg.de-funded project T-EDGE! In the next three years, we will study forest regeneration 🌱 and biophysical conditions 🌡️ at transient forest edges! See more information here: www.easi.uni-bayreuth.de/en/research/...

📣Attending @esa.int's #LPS25 next week?
Make sure to catch the 𝐂.𝟎𝟓.𝟎𝟒 session (𝐓𝐮𝐞 𝟐𝟒𝐭𝐡 | 𝟏𝟔:𝟏𝟓-𝟏𝟕:𝟒𝟓 | 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝟏/𝐋𝟐), during which I will talk about 🌍 global 🛰️ #Landsat and #Sentinel-2 data availability and how it shapes feasibility of long-term analyses.
See you in Vienna!

Petty but satisfying. We take what crumbs we can get.
Six years in the making and finally published! Our viewpoint on how to improve tree mortality monitoring. With in-depth discussion on how to improve ground-based monitoring, integration of ground-based monitoring with remote sensing and modelling, and fair and collaborative science: lnkd.in/dJgSRQHt
