Anyways, lately my partner is inventorying and crating a video installation that has been acquired by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts *and* story boarding a video while I’ve started work on props for a different performance-video, I should get to work on the scrip soon!
I love giving artist talks, writing proposals, writting scripts, writting exhibition essays for peers. I live having people in my studio, and gallery tours. I love finding out an artist I admire admires me back. I love getting a grant, getting a show, getting a residency, getting work aquired.
Yes. We desperately need more of this energy in Canada.
It’s the rice paper roll season of my life and I plan to have them at least 2-3 a month.
I don’t know why it took me so long to realize it, but you can just put anything in a rice paper roll and make it a meal. Tonight was carrots, vermicelli, steamed tong ho, spring onions, cilantro, tofu puffs. Tossed with a bit of vegan fish sauce, salt, and msg; dipped in spicy peanut sauce.
Apropos of a *really* weird exchange I had here earlier, I wanted to say I love being an artist. I love making art, seeing art, teaching art, reading & writing about art. I love visiting other artists’ studios, I love going to art events, I love mentoring younger artists, I love curating shows.
