Also, since you're writing it, the book changes constantly and you have to keep checking on things like, "Did I change that character's name every place where it appears?" because you saw a shiny object and decided a different name was better.

Interesting how many seem to include names for grandparents. Did people at one point think their grandparents were reincarnated as these bugs? Inquiring minds want to know. (And I couldn't begin to pronounce the two Welsh names.)

Just a sec to be a soccer nerd--for those saying Reyna's goal at the last moment didn't matter (because the USMNT was already up 3-1), when the group stage has just begun, you never know how much every additional goal will help the goal differential. Every goal matters. Also, it was damn beautiful.

Reports make it fairly clear that ICE detention facilities are worse than most US prisons. And for the most part they're crammed full of people who haven't been convicted of any crime.
We're .75 miles from the FIFA Fanfest location on Lemon Hill in Philly. During matches yesterday, it was fine. But they're playing music so loudly we can hear it like it's right outside our house. Went to the farmer's market .5 miles in the opposite direction and STILL heard it blasting. #FIFA #WC26
