The carpenter's just come. After some confusion about why he'd had to come, we realised it was a mix up and he needn't have. But once he'd come there was nothing either of us could do. Oh well. No use crying over spilt milk.
The plumber came. Three times. Had to keep returning to his van then coming again, and my pipes are now seen to.
