Lashed up all plausible cars for an extra long holiday San Francisco Zephyr this weekend as I get more and more finished and in service. I think it's looking pretty good!

The Unicorns are back at the Coliseum this year and you bet I'll be there!
T20 cricket is the "modern" version - you get 20 overs (groups of 6 balls (baseball strikes)) to score all your runs. It's like if baseball had a pitch count limit per team. Imagine baseball with a max of 120 pitches per team where you play all bottoms of innings first, then all tops.

That means that if your team bats first, you get a nailbiter as the other team tries to catch up, and if you bat second, it's like you're down runs going into the bottom of the ninth. It's unbelievable sport.

OK so... Test cricket is the traditional way to play the game - four innings (a cricket innings is like a baseball half-inning) that go as long as they need to to get the whole team out (10 batsmen each get one out per innings). It's prestigious but impractical - really only used for int'l matches.

Test games are 6 hours per day (which is a lot!) broken up into 3 2-hour sections (which is reasonable!) for a few days straight. It's really just like a series of baseball games all played with cumulative scores and outs. Not too hard to watch/follow, especially when it's only the biggest games.

Lately I've had both Fleischer Superman, and the New York Central's streamlined Hudsons in mind, so this was inevitable. It'll be a long time before I have a model train layout again, so for now I'll settle for animating my railroad ambitions.
