After listening to Ep 12, listener @flyguyyyc.bsky.social sent in these vintage Trans-Canada Airlines timetables from 1946!! TCA was using converted Lancaster bombers to carry passengers known as the Avro Lancastrian. You could make the journey from Montreal to London in a speedy 14.5 hours!
Check out Episode 13 featuring my good friend and aviation weather expert Sophie! Available on your favourite podcast platform.

Oh damn. July block actually turned out really nice all things considered. Am I senior now?
Running through a park in Saskatoon with The Hip’s Wheat King’s stuck in my head and two seperate people are playing Poets on a speaker. A very Canadian moment.
The World Cup has reminded me in a couple days that this is about PEOPLE. The Scottish have taken over Boston with their passion. The Japanese are incredibly happy to be taking part. Canada is able to show their pride on home soil. A Somalian ref just wants to live his dream
I just planned a cross country trip from St. John’s to Victoria using the 1946 timetable. Travel time 1946: 34.5 hours Travel time 2026: 10-14 hours Next time your flight is 30 minutes late, just be thankful you can complete it in comfort in a handful of hours!
Today was the best. Snowbird 9 and I share the same last name (no relation) so he let me sit in his jet.
Warbird flying season is back. I got up in both the Tiger Moth and Chipmunk today. Great day for it!
Post war, the Lancaster had its gun turrets removed, and nose and tail sections streamlined for Lancastrian conversion. It was a unique way to travel as passengers sat sideways in the cabin. I hope they brought their earplugs!
