Mental health makes up 20% of all ill health – but only receives 9% of NHS spending. And that share is falling. Without stronger protections, mental health will keep slipping behind other areas of care. 4/6

No published strategy. No guarantee of adequate funding. No promise to cut waiting lists. No commitment to deliver Young Futures Hubs everywhere they’re needed. 3/6
Poverty is one of the biggest drivers of poor mental health – so this work really matters. But there was no mention of mental health at all. And here’s the problem: there’s still no clear plan to tackle the mental health crisis. 2/6
Instead, it needs to focus on ensuring everybody gets the support that is right for them. We’re ready to help with this review, making sure it’s shaped by the voices of those living with mental health problems. 2/2

The mental health system is under immense strain. Something has to change. This review is a chance to understand what’s driving the increase in mental health problems. This must not be used as a way to justify who deserves support and who doesn’t. 1/2
