Hypothetical Adelolophus skull reconstruction. Sadly, the crest is unknown. I've based the missing pieces on various parasaurolphins and made the crest not quite like Parasaurolophus and not quite like Tlatolophus. #sciart #paleoart
In case you're not aware of many tremendous women and enbies contributing to bringing prehistoric creatures back to life 💙
Happy Pride Month! Did you know, palaeontology has more queer people than average population! Over 30% in Early Careers! 1 in 3 junior palaeontologist you'll meet, will be queer. This stat drops with seniority. Palaeontology underperforms across all other diversity metrics otherwise. 🧵

Our paper on turtle origins is finally out in Current Biology, with two major implications for our understanding of reptile evolution 🐢 #Paleontology #Turtles #Evolution www.cell.com/current-biol...

Also, I can't not post these images of Iguanodon supraorbital bones. I'm uncertain if there's some exaggeration in this specimen, but they join other examples in suggesting a decent (and seldom restored) set of eyebrows.

Went to the unveiling of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History's new palaeo exhibits this evening with @gizz47.bsky.social. Excellent new displays of British dinosaur material, well worth checking out even if you've visited umpteen times before.
New #DAWNDINOS paper! Another "here's everything relevant about a cool Triassic/early Jurassic archosauriform's locomotion that we can figure out so far, with a 3D model of it"-- this time focused on the big nasty "rauisuchian" Postosuchus. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
TEX is the culmination of my PhD research. Not only do we describe & figure our new species in exhaustive detail, but we include a revised phylogenetic dataset for analysis of Mosasauridae, & my measurement dataset for HUNDREDS OF MOSASAURS & EXTANT LIZARDS-& it's ALL OPEN ACCESS
