AB 2005 would eliminate the owner-occupancy requirement that has made it so needlessly difficult to use SB 9 to undertake a lot split and create a homeownership unit. It passed today out of Senate Local Government. I was proud to testify in support for @cayimby.bsky.social.
Climate denial, but make it liberal.
Michigan is getting closer to legalizing single-stair buildings. If you would like to see this happen, call your legislator and tell them to vote YES on HB 5570 and 5571!

Nice overview of a local homelessness housing issue that extends far beyond Riverside to other cities in California, by my UCR School of Public Policy colleague Dr. @stano.bsky.social policysky sociology 🛟📉
Imagine if a political reporter decided to treat Trump's brain-pudding ramblings seriously and wrote a story that led with "President declares 'Love' for Inflation" and then asked prominent Republicans whether they also loved the 4.2% CPI increase.
Letting chuds bamboozle you into hating your country is loser behavior. Imagine if someone broke into your house and started trashing it and your reaction was "Doesn't matter, my house sucked anyway."
This is a moment that requires more patriotism, not less. If you don't love America, you're just dead weight.
Looking at the sandblasting of American democracy post Shelby and concluding that California needs to count votes in faster than seven days is like looking at a person with a rapidly growing tumor and concluding their biggest problem is that they need a haircut.
The real villains of the CA governor's race were Katie Porter and Matt Mahan. Hopefully that's the last we ever have to hear from either of them.
Shout out to all the academics who think they have to stay on Twitter for their research to get exposure. I'm pretty sure your thread can get 4 likes over here as well, my guy.

Single-Stair legislation would be a powerful reform to our outdated building code!
Q&A: UCR Assistant Professor Stan Oklobdzija explains the broader policy issues behind the city of Riverside's rejection of a homeless housing project.
