The evidence is overwhelming: Justin Smith has repeatedly signaled allegiance to Trump’s political movement, not judicial independence.
By confirming him, 48 Republicans are rewarding the same election denialism and revisionism that continue to undermine our democracy. Americans deserve judges who are faithful to the Constitution and the rule of law, not judges who refuse to confront the truth.
I really do think it's notable that, during Pride Month, the Senate just confirmed the third lifetime judicial nominee THIS MONTH who has a record of working in opposition to the rights of trans people.
That has become a key qualification for individuals seeking a judicial appointment from Trump.
CAUGHT: @kaine.senate.gov asked Deputy White House Budget Director nominee Hal Duncan who won the 2020 election. Duncan would said Biden was "certified." But when asked about 2024, he said "Trump won." Either Duncan believes conspiracies, or he's too afraid to say Trump lost. Neither is acceptable.
