Court holds Google liable for false claims in AI Overviews. Seems significant.

A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previous limited liability protections for search engine operators don't apply to AI overviews. In this case, Google's AI had falsely linked two publishers to fraud and made claims that didn't appear in any of the linked sources. The ruling could set a precedent for AI-generated content liability worldwide.

Use of low processed straw mats is coming to a carpenter / builder / developer near you? In France it's reality, because they are ahead in the transition to low carbon + low tech = high performance economy. www.bomatec-construction.com are using fibraterr.fr mats.

Huh.
Response to concerns from the Not With My NHS Data campaign about access to patient data by external contractors in the NHS FDP and NDIT environment.
I'm reading this and failing to see how accountability will operate.
Omand states: "a human would supervise the system but not authorise every single combat action, with generative AI breakthroughs making it possible for machines to operate within a moral framework designed by the human."

I've been seeing many many issues around recruitment and hiring over the last few months.
Stanford research is showing that AI hiring tools are introducing racial bias and data retention leading to rejection bias.

Recruitment shouldn't be "AI said no".
