Oomfs hop on FFXI. I had to kill a rare monster in an area that took about 15 minutes to walk through, then put its drop in a randomly placed hole in that same zone that moves every day, all so I could get a sword that was far worse than my current one, but is required to get a red mage armor set.
Then use that to open a chest that can randomly spawn anywhere in that extremely big cave and can be claimed by other players, which then moves it elsewhere, THEN bury the boots and blood in a very specific unmarked spot in the cave, so that they could turn into actually good boots.
What came next, you asked? Well I had to go pray at an altar but couldn't do so without cloth I either had to buy for way too much, or get to level 45 in clothcraft to make (I'm level 10), then I had to take some boots and blood into a cave, defeat enemies there for a chest key...
