And then you've got the practicalities. A big long line to show your ID card to get in? Security guards making complex judgements on entitlement? An actual foreigners lane for paying? It strikes me that like quite a lot of means tests to access state services, it will cost a great deal to do.
Love being in a country where cheques went out of basically every transaction 10 years ago or so, seeing others where they hope to keep them in for the next 20.

So many things to start on with this article, but the idea that political consensus in the current centre is good because polarisation is bad, uncritical use of "objective reality"or that LLMs prioritise expert opinion all raise a hefty 🤨. giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...
I was extremely tangentially involved in the design process. I repped NCT at a stakeholder preview. Turned up with a pram and was basically unable to get it round the door curve. My go to example of not testing with users when you're already financially committed to doing what you planned anyway.

After 15 or so years of data.gov.uk and its discourse, it does feel like if you're not going to be working on mandating data publication then the most valuable and difficult problem is being ducked. The product needs to be "we publish data from government honestly, predictably & consistently".
