defaults matter and this is the game as they presented it! so that is what i'm commenting on
also frankly i could play invulnerable or whatever but anything in that vein boils down to "don't play part of the game" and if i'm not playing part of the game then... why am i playing the game
when i was like 10 i played doom in god mode and idkfa'd constantly and that was very entertaining because i was 10. but it turns out that gets old quick and i might as well just put on a video of someone else doing it better, which i can then ignore while i do something else
ok some fuckin guy is real cranky that i'm not using mina's modifiers to, i don't know, fix it or something, so lemme spell this out:
i'm a game developer hello. i'm posting about game design because i think it's interesting, not because i need a stranger to tell me to play it differently
i'm trying to get along with godot. i'll get there eventually
and the problem was not "i am unable to reach the end and see what i can only assume will be an immensely satisfying ending which will then award a feat named Hollow Victory"
the problem was "the stuff between here and the end is increasingly unfun"
i could do it. but i don't think i want to
this feels so intuitive to me (and ash agreed) that i hardly know how to convey it to someone who might just suggest it as a reflex and then also keep pressing it even after i tell them repeatedly to stop ahem
but if i artificially defang something designed to be fangy... that doesn't *create* fun
