So the stupid ban got announced and uh wow this thing sounds like even more of a mess than I thought. It sounds like a bunch of vague ish bullshit that to be brutally honest... is likely to get watered down and might not even happen with the guy whose about to replace starmer this week.
Also, apparently bluesky wouldn't be included in the ban because it's too niche. I also don't see anything about Tumblr or Discord. But I don't know how far all this could potentially go.
HOWEVER! It is worth nothing that is being pushed through by a Prime Minister who everyone hates through secondary legislation. He's got a lot of hurdles doing this and he might not even be Prime Minister in a few weeks if things go a certain way.
I know this is a long shot and genuinely, I don't trust any MPs but I feel like if anyone is capable and comfortable doing this, they genuinely should.
Still boosting this by the way. There is the very big chance that nothing really changes no matter what these assholes are saying, that it'll be just like what happened in Australia where it just basically hasn't worked. But I just want us to be prepared just in case of the worst.
I would still be prepared but also try not to fall for some of the fearmongering I've been seeing. I know it's a lot and I myself have had a lot of spirals over this... but the reality is that this shit is going to fail badly.

UK friends heads up, I know I don't usually share this stuff (largely for my own sanity) but Starmer and his lot are planning to announce this nonsense on Monday. I've been worried this was going to happen for ages now, but I didn't think it'd be so soon.
