Just a guy that likes tech, democracy, and freedom

My most recent LLM prompt: “wtf are you trying to figure out sometimes it’s easier to ask me the human”
One of those days
I just discovered keri.one for decentralized identity. One of you #ATproto SMEs gotta be looking at this right?
I can’t be the only one to have done this before. I was heading to my local Greenlane drive-thru, a salad and wraps fast food place. It wasn’t until I was asked what I’d like to order at the intercom that I realized I was at Starbucks.
Then to avoid embarrassment I just ordered a decaf iced latte 🤷♂️
What about a more distributed and fair Amazon equivalent for purchasing all the s*** we need? Something that can tackle economies of scale while delivering the convenience consumers want? Why aren’t we competing
on this front?
Seen in some reply that the “tech industry” is to blame for the past 15 years of democratic backsliding. What do people consider to be the “tech industry”? Unless it’s some fairly narrow definition, this claim is weird.
Issues with democracy? Thank your Nintendo Switch. Blame your Roomba.
I was using Mint budget tracker for many years, didn’t like how it was being rolled into Credit Karma, so haven’t been tracking for a couple years. I like low effort tracking where I primarily watch trends and maybe set some goals. Has to auto pull+categorize from my accounts.

If you’re into #SoftwareEngineering and related topics, I’ve started a feed “SoftSkies” 🌅. For now it’s just based on the tag. bsky.app/profile/did:...
Seems like it would be technically difficult to implement, but I could really use a feed feature that allows me to mark a specific time-relevant topic as “seen”. This time it’s after maybe the 25th post about the Supreme Court allowing CA redistricting, also maybe I don’t need to see I stg 75 more.
