Evanston’s bike lanes are frequently blocked by illegally parked vehicles. Paint/flex posts are not protection, and as this video shows, enforcement is inconsistent and temporary. Church and Davis need concrete barriers before someone on bike- like a child going to the library- is injured or killed.

Shocking video today in Evanston of an EPD officer responding to a cyclist reporting a truck blocking a bike lane in a tow zone area. He asked the cyclist “would you rather have him block the street?” YES! Bike lanes are streets for bikes, streets are streets for trucks and cars. It’s unacceptable.
