A parking expert who presented information to the city’s Economic Development Committee Wednesday night warned that making city parking free might not be as helpful as the thought of it sounds.
For one, Lindsay Bayley, a transportation consultant and former planner at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, told the committee that Evanston’s parking problems aren’t comparable to those of Wilmette or Skokie, arguing that the city shouldn’t be competing or comparing parking to either neighbor.
