I shall watch this with interest. There's no way to get 60% of kids actively travelling to school without disrupting current patterns of car-based mobility. This includes making all urban streets safer, not just those right outside schools

All through lockdowns, I created hopscotches and playful paths outside our house - we’re moving out tomorrow so it seemed doubly fitting to do one last trail.
With thanks to @playfulanywhere.bsky.social for the chalk (all mine is already packed) and the play nudge.
The theme for this year’s International Day of Play is: “Protect play, protect childhood”.
As UNICEF says, “the theme is a reminder for all of us – governments, businesses, schools and families – that happy and healthy childhoods are built on play.”
