Interview from 5:23pm on Drivetime www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... Excellent reporting every time she's on air: local-level reporting, right up to the wider state of the war, with more clarity than I've heard from anyone else. Hope Jen keeps being booked by the BBC.
This is what they're dealing with - vast swathes of the country unusable and lethal, estimates for cleaning it up in the tens or even hundreds of years.
A long-read for Prospect magazine: reporting from SE Ukraine on demining & conversely, on the scramble to leave the Mine Ban Treaty by countries threatened by Russia. Blog & extra pics: www.jenstout.net/post/deminin... Article w/Julia Kochetova (!) pics: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/world/europe...

@jenstout.bsky.social on BBC Radio Scotland there, reporting from Ukraine on the daily drone killings of civilians in cities along the eastern front. Don't think I've heard/read an English-language journalist cover Ukraine with as much clarity and composure as Jen does.

Russian mines are endangering fighters, farmers and children across liberated Ukraine. Now Kyiv wants to set its own traps for the invaders, writes @jenstout.bsky.social. www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/world/europe...
