Please provide a temporary MUP. That pathway is one of the busiest active transportation corridors in the city and is an important, much safer alternative to the heavy-traffic roads around the Commons. #BikeHfx
When you grab a cuppa at the #KidicalMassHfx ride on Sunday morning, be sure to wish a happy housewarming to this kind volunteer.
She just moved into the neighbourhood and this weekend’s ride is her official #BikeHfx welcoming party! 🎉

Brilliant minds at work: closing one of the busiest multiuse paths in the city for a year and providing no alternatives.
Further evidence that Kidical Mass folks are the best: one of our #BikeHfx members has volunteered to make a giant vat of coffee for the start of the ride on Sunday!
We’ll have cups etc but we’d love you to bring your own mugs to cut down on waste.
Excited to see everyone soon!
Went to the World Tea House to stock up on refills and get an iced latte. I see why they’re struggling! I hate Argyle St at the best of times, but the construction noise and dust are next level. Glad I’m still masking everywhere, because this doesn’t seem safe to breathe.
Help out Phil, if you can!
“As the pandemic wore on and official guidelines changed, fellow organizers seemed to forget or ignore the positive environment and social adaptations they’d witnessed, and refused to maintain protections like masking, meeting outdoors, and COVID-19 testing to keep one another safe.”
This project has just knee-capped my kid’s kinda sorta safe bike route downtown #BikeHfx. It’s unconscionable that the city isn’t going to provide a temporary MUP during this work. There are no comparably safe detours available.

This is unhinged.
- Halifax already counts bikes! They have many permanent counters, and the data is public.
- I could find you a hundred roads within walking distance of my home that have less than 50 cars per hour. Is anyone questioning whether they should exist?

I'm not sure "Local man invents unverified pseudoscientific reason to malign bike infrastructure" merits a news story.
As the Halifax Regional Municipality continues to expand its cycling network, a Dartmouth resident has spent the last two years documenting how many cyclists use a bike lane near his home.
