Artificial intelligence is rapidly accelerating scientific output, but risks narrowing inquiry, weakening judgement and undermining how scientists are trained.

The uncritical adoption of AI in science is alarming — we urgently need guard rails

Thrilled to announce that our paper on Glycan Atlassing is officially published in Nature Nanotechnology!🧬🍭 We developed "Glycan Atlassing," a method to map the glycocaly at nanometer resolution. This allows us to trace cellular states and opens new avenues for diagnostics and therapy..
Nature Nanotechnology, Published online: 14 May 2026; doi:10.1038/s41565-026-02154-9Glycan atlassing is a method for the detection of the spatial organization of cell-surface glycosylation patterns at nanoscale. It shows that such patterns reflect the functional state of the cell, providing direct evidence that the cell-surface glycome encodes biological information via its spatial organization.

A massive thank you to my dearest friend, colleague and together we share first co-authorship with @dijo-mj.bsky.social and our supervisor @lmoeckl.bsky.social, and our fantastic team and collaborators for the hard work that went into this! #NatureNanotechnology #Microscopy #Glycotime #DNA-PAINT
Preprinted! Been working on this for ~1 year w wonderful coauthors Nancy & Mark: > Understanding Artificial Neural Networks: Mysterianism about Known Mechanism is Mysticism doi.org/10.5281/zeno... Have you noticed many experts say they don't understand AI? What's going on? 🤯 Let us tell you... 1/
Hello #world, meet 1,000× Expansion Microscopy. A small gel would grow to the size of an Olympic swimming pool, while amino-acid-scale distances become visible with ordinary light microscopy. Led by Helena Hu from @eboyden3.bsky.social's lab, in collab with us. Story: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
