I want to support public broadcasting but NPR plays the "Nice Polite Republicans" bit way too much, they structure everything around it so that readers are led to believe problems caused or made worse by Republicans are acts of god and forces of nature.

My uncle’s funeral was today, and bc he was a veteran the honor guard was there to present my aunt the flag. The standard language is to say “on behalf of the president” etc accept this flag as appreciation for service (paraphrasing).
It was tough to hear because the president does not care at all.

I know most of my fellow Minneapolis residents (and the broader metro and state) will feel this viscerally. Our histories and context are different, but this response to violence against neighbors is so important.
