After my Kim Deal deep dive, while I expected the Breeders' Pod and Last Splash to rank at the top, I didn't expect Kim Deal's 2024 solo album Nothing Loves You More to get on the top 3 podium right behind them. I mean, all her work has been great, but the new one is phenomenol.
released 40 yrs ago (tomorrow). it'll likely always lose out to 3-4 other LPs of his as his greatest work, & I get it, but it's the one I love the most. the sequencing alone, the graceful segues from odd little trifles to perfect funk pop tracks, then closing with the saddest song in the world
My hate for Weezer is primarily personal (indirectly), rooted in journalist friends having awkward/creepy encounters with a Certain Band Member. Maybe those stories will be public one day, but they’re not my stories to tell.
The more subjective side of my hate is that they’re incredibly overrated.
