No state authorizes the death penalty for theft. Yet, police routinely kill Black people they suspect of stealing something. No trial. No jury. No due process. Just state sanctioned violence

Man I went down to the country today to do some work figuring out family trees and the sort on my daddy side. Way down deep in Laurens County, SC rests a lil ol town named Cross Hill and beside it is Mountville. That’s where my people from.

However country you think I am, my folk got me beat. Rigging speakers and fans to trees with wiring like thunderstorms don’t happen is certainly a choice you make living out in the country.
Way down deep in Mountville there was 1800 acres of land. That land was owned by Charlie Bluford. Now Blufordtown exists on a portion of those 1800 acres. Everyone here is a Bluford and kin to me.
